Another brilliant achievement was achieved by students of the Sharia Economics Study Program at Mulawarman University in the IEKI 2024 International Student Festival event held at the Indonesian University of Education, Bandung. IEKI International Student Festival 2024 is an activity formed to develop an Islamic Economy with justice, equality, and sustainability principles. This activity carries the theme “The Role of Islamic Economics Students in Promoting Social and Spiritual Transformation” as a form of the role of Islamic economics students in encouraging the achievement of social and spiritual transformation in the Muslim community.
IEKI International Student Festival activities are carried out hybrid with various competitions. Students of the Sharia economics study program won first place in the Business Plan branch under the name of the GreenBites team, along with students Sofiyyah Mahmudah, Bintang Rafly Syahbandi, and Muhammad Qisyam. Also, the Sharia Economics Debate competition branch won 3rd place, consisting of Afifah, Amani, Najwa Azizah, and Audy Rivadya Amin. From various competitions, the UNMUL Sharia economics study program also won several awards, including Best Grading Color in the Videographic competition branch which was attended by Muhammad Syawal Abidin, Adi Sudarman, Akmad Ikhsan; Best People Choice in the Infographic competition branch which was participated in by Elsa Ekanabila, Best Qur’an Reciter in the Musabaqoh Tilawatil Qur’an branch which was participated in by Fajar Irfandi.
The 2024 International Student Festival is an activity that can provide opportunities for students to show their capacity to develop innovative solutions based on Sharia values. Participating in these activities encourages academic competition and inspires cross-cultural collaboration in responding to global challenges. Participation in this activity is expected to instill the spirit of innovation in students, encouraging them to produce creative and sustainable solutions per sharia principles. This is also a strategic step for the Sharia Economics Study Program of Mulawarman University in strengthening its position as an institution capable of producing highly competitive graduates, who are ready to contribute significantly to encouraging positive change in society, both at the national and international levels.
