The history of the establishment of the Faculty of Economics and Business cannot be separated from the beginning of the establishment of Mulawarman University in 1962, Mulawarman University is the oldest university in East Kalimantan Province which is located in the heart of the city of Samarinda. Currently, Mulawarman University has been accredited A based on the decision of BAN-PT No. 1466/SK/BAN-PT/Akred/PT/V/2017.
At first the Faculty of Economics and Business was known as the Faculty of State Administration and Administration, then on May 4, 1966 based on the Decree of the Minister of PTIP No. 12 In 1966 the Faculty of Economics was established which later transformed into the Faculty of Economics and Business until today.
The Faculty of Economics and Business is located in Samarinda City Center which is the capital of East Kalimantan Province. The Faculty of Economics and Business is included in the Top 3 Favorite Faculties at Mulawarman University. The Faculty of Economics and Business has ± 5,000 (Five Thousand) students consisting of 9 Study Programs ranging from Undergraduate, Postgraduate and Doctoral Levels.
The Faculty of Economics and Business has carried out various kinds of cooperation at the regional, national and even international levels with the aim of becoming a superior faculty in implementing the tridharma of higher education in the field of sustainable resource-based economics and business.
The Faculty of Economics and Business has an important and strategic role in creating quality resources for the development of the Indonesian nation in general and Kalimantan in particular, this role is reflected in our alumni who are scattered in various important sectors in East Kalimantan. East Kalimantan's economy is fully supported by natural resources and the faculty of economics and business fully supports the basic scientific pattern of Mulawarman University by creating competent human resources.
